VM makes Christmas merry for two with $1-m prizes
Victoria Mutual (VM) brought a big surprise and a Merry Christmas to two lucky million dollar “Win with VM” referral campaign winners.
On December 18th, VM surprised Rena Reid, sales representative for Gore Developments, and Andrew Duncan, real estate agent at Remax Elite, with their winning checks and the realization that this was going to be a holiday season none of them would ever forget.
The “Win with VM” promotion ran February through October to reward broker agents and developers who referred the mortgage business to VM, resulting in approval and payout.
Reid and Duncan submitted the highest total dollar value of the referrals, resulting in mortgage disbursements.
The check presentations were a happy affair – a smart ploy to add to the surprise.
Reid, described as always on the ball and quick at work, was convinced she was giving a client a tour of the Montego Bay West Village in St. James before the surprise reveal of the winning check with her name on it , hidden behind a curtain.
Obviously dazed, Reid was grateful. She praised the VM team, which she said can weather any storm. Reid reiterated her commitment to continue working with the VM team.
“We have already started to work. I’ve already started working, ”said Reid.
In the meantime, Duncan entered his office with ecstatic screams of surprise when his check was hidden on his desk.
“We have a great working relationship,” said Duncan of his relationship with VM. “We have a good thing; not just me, but the whole team. “
As a past recipient of a VM Track Scholarship, Duncan is also considered an energetic team player. He said he has always loved VM and enjoys working with the VM team.
“Let’s go into the year 2021 together. We can go house hunting! “
Paul Elliot, vice president of sales at VM, said promoting Win with VM shows the building society’s appreciation for its partners who play an essential role in their mission to improve life.
“VM is committed to helping more people achieve financial wellbeing, and home ownership is a big part of that,” said Elliot.
“Our partners, real estate agents and developers help us reach more people and improve more lives. We wanted to reward them for their important work and let them know that we appreciate the role they play in VM’s relentless quest to improve the finances of more Jamaicans.
“It was a fun event and we’re glad we made Christmas so much nicer for two of our valued partners,” added Elliot.
