Former Colliers senior level advisers start commercial real estate brokerage firm

CASCADE TOWNSHIP – A group of top executives at Colliers InternationalThe West Michigan office has launched a new commercial real estate brokerage firm.

The newly created Advantage Commercial Real Estate Services LLC located at 1575 Arboretum Drive SE in the Watermark Tech Office Park in Cascade Township east of Grand Rapids. Ten senior commercial real estate professionals and support staff will initially start the company, which will focus on brokerage services in the office, investment sales, vacant lots, location selection, multi-family, retail and industrial real estate sectors.

Members of the new company are all former Colliers International employees: Mark Ansara, John Kuiper, Tim Van Noord, David Rapp, Herzog Suwyn, Steve Marcusse, Michael Visser, Gary Albrecht, Trent Wieringa and Mike Murray. The team’s experience spans thousands of completed transactions with a business volume greater than $ 2 billion.

“There is no hostility at Colliers International, we are just excited to be part of such a new business opportunity,” said Ansara, managing principal and senior vice president of retail for the new firm. Ansara previously served as vice president of Colliers International’s West Michigan office.

Colliers International, headquartered in Toronto, employs around 15,000 people in more than 400 offices in 68 countries.

The formation of the new company will help serve clients and be more creative and nimble with real estate challenges, said Kuiper, CEO and industrial advisor, Advantage Commercial Real Estate Services.

“Real estate is definitely local, but our reach won’t be limited to Grand Rapids,” said Kuiper. “We intend to continue to conduct transactions across North America. This gives us the opportunity to come together and share something we are connected to. We are very excited to be owned and operated from West Michigan. ”

The company plans to add more consultants to the team in the course of 2021.

“We look forward to a number of opportunities over the coming year including the creation of a property management division,” said Ansara. “As we continue to grow, our goal is to create a permanent location in downtown Grand Rapids where we will continue to invest locally.”
